Adopted in 2000, the National Forestry Law contains provisions regarding the ownership of forests resources, their administration, the eligibility criteria for forest resources utilisation rights and obligations as well as environmental protection, protected zones and animals. It also deals with trade in forest products and fiscal provisions related to forests. Provisions on dispute resolution can also be found in the National Forestry Law.
Chapters 1 and 9 of the National Forestry Law have been first amended in 2003 by the Act for the Establishment of a Protected Forest Area Network.
The National Forestry Law has been further amended by the 2006 National Forestry Law.
