CITES timber species in the framework of VPA enforcement

This document outlines the definitions of legality given by VPAs and CITES and how VPAs deal with CITES timber species.

This paper compares the requirements for timber legality between CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and VPAs (Voluntary Partnership Agreements) and identifies whether there is a possibility for cooperation in the implementation of those instruments.
